Looking for something more interesting to serve with your fish as Good Friday approaches? I love this recipe because it is so simple and also a bit more sophisticated than your typical macaroni and cheese. That’s one nice thing about this dish – you can be creative with your cheese choices!
- 1 1/2 cup shredded smoked Gouda
- 1 ¼ shredded white cheddar
- ½ cup shredded Asiago
- ¼ cup milk (additional if needed)
- ½ stick butter
- 8 0z macaroni (or chosen pasta product)
- Breadcrumbs (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare pasta as directed. Meanwhile, melt butter over medium-low heat.
Slowly add in cheese and milk, stirring constantly.
In a greased 9X9 dish, pour in half of the pasta, followed by half of the cheese sauce. Repeat then bake in the oven for 20 minutes, stirring halfway through. If desired, at the halfway mark, sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Enjoy!
